Memories made at Preeceville museum vintage fun night

( see photo gallery below ) The Preeceville and District Heritage Museum brought back a taste of the past on June 24 with a 1950s fun night. The evening kicked off with volunteers dressing up in 1950s’ apparel.

The Preeceville and District Heritage Museum brought back a taste of the past on June 24 with a 1950s fun night.

The evening kicked off with volunteers dressing up in 1950s’ apparel. Ice-cream sundaes, floats, popcorn, banana splits and lemonade were served throughout the evening.

Music was supplied by an eight-track machine with 50's era music.

A show-and-shine featured 15 entries, including a variety of cars, trucks and tractors from the local area. Pat Osatiuk of Preeceville won the voters’ choice for his 1939 Massey Ferguson tractor. Joseph Chubak of Canora won the voters’ choice for his 1981 Corvette in the classic category. In the vintage category, Laurie Meberg won first for his entry, a 1957 Chevy two-door Bel Air, and Craig Sandager won first in the antique category for his 1940 Chevy Coupe. Winners received prizes from local businesses.

Other entries included: a 1924 Model T entered by Darrell Gibb of Lintlaw; a 1929 Model A entered by Darwin Chalupiak of Preeceville; a 1929 Model A entered by Ray Penner of Preeceville; a classic 1969 GMC wrecker truck entered by Wendell Ebbert of Okla; a 1985 Pontiac hearse and a 1948 panel wagon entered by Ron Descalchuk of Preeceville; a 1960 Thunderbird entered by Eugene Kowalski of Canora; a 2013 Shelby entered by Colin Hartl of Preeceville; a 2013 Mustang entered by Rodney Daschuk of Preeceville; a 1971 Chevy Custom truck entered by Michael Andrusko of Sturgis; a 1969 El Camino entered by Phil Murrin of Preeceville; a 1950 Massey Ferguson entered by Edgar Thorson of Preeceville; and a 1979 Coupe de Ville Cadillac entered by Bill Rehaluk of Canora.
