Community-wide registration night held

The Town of Preeceville encouraged local organizations to come out and showcase themselves in a community registration evening on September 8.

鈥淐ommunity members had the opportunity to register and collect information for numerous fitness, arts, and community volunteer organizations. The evening was geared at promoting clubs as well organizations and clubs in our community,鈥 said Andrea Tonn Preeceville recreation director.

The Whitehawk Arts Council promoted their series of three scheduled concerts for the new season in the Stars for Saskatchewan series. The GSSD band hosted a table taking registration and information. The Preeceville Recreation Board handed out information on some of the town鈥 scheduled events. The karate club promoted karate. The Preeceville Harvard Air Cadets showcased some of the organization鈥檚 activities.

The Preeceville Art Group had Maureen Johnson display some of her artwork. The Preeceville and District Musher鈥檚 Rendezvous promoted its annual winter event of dog sled races scheduled for January 29 to 31. The Preeceville Curling Club was encouraging new and seasoned curlers to come out to try the winter sport. The Preeceville Walking Club promoted walking during the winter months which will be held in the Legion Hall.

The Family Resource Centre had a table displaying information on numerous topics. The Studio Dance One club with Jessica Welder (instructor) was taking registrations for numerous dance classes. The Preeceville Figure Skating Club, that begins practices once the ice goes in at the Preeceville Skating Arena, held registration. The Preeceville Nursery School with Lori Newton, teacher, was on hand to answer questions about the school and classes.

Lisa Moekerk promoted her drop-in fitness classes. The 1 2 3 Care For Me Daycare also promoted the day care located in Sturgis.

Children had the opportunity to colour or do a craft and refreshments were available at the conclusion of the registration evening.
