Celebrate the power of imagination at the Preeceville Public Library this summer with the TD Summer Reading Club.

Children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 can have fun by setting a goal for the number of books they plan to read over the summer, while getting involved in programs, activities and contests at the library every Wednesday from July 22 to August 26.

The summer reading program also features games, crafts and stories. The pro-gram was a huge hit in the past, said a release.

More than 580,000 children participate in the TD Summer Reading Club, collectively reading over 2.4 million books each summer.

The program is supported with children鈥檚 activity kits and posters, and has a robust online presence. This year鈥檚 theme is Go! TD is encouraging parents and children to explore new places near and far, meet new friends and try new things through the magic of books. With more than 1,900 local public libraries participating in the program, over 550,000 children are expected to participate in the program.

The goals of the TD Summer Reading Club are to en-courage and strengthen the habit of reading for pleasure to create life-long learners, to increase children鈥檚 reading skills and reduce summer learning loss, the release said.
