Super League Curling hits Canora, one team still unbeaten

The Duck Mountain Super League arrived in Canora for weeks three and four action on Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, with visiting teams from Swan River, Norquay, Benito and Kamsack, according to a release from Glen Becenko of Kamsack.

Week 3 games saw the local Pioneer Hybrid foursome (Bob Kolodziejski of Canora) win over Challoner Farms with a score 6 to 2. It was W.F. Schneider and Son handing Swan Hills Properties their first loss in a last- rock win, 5 to 3. NCC Farms easily downed Pattison Ag, 9 to 4.  In the last game, Swan Valley Chiropractic held on to beat Hub International after they scored a six-ender, 8 to 6.

In week 4, Swan Valley Chiropractic continued to be the only undefeated team, winning its fourth straight, this time over Pioneer Hybrid by the score of 8 to 1. Challoner Farms defeated Hub International 8 to 4. Tied coming hone, W.F Schneider and Sons got by NCC Farms with the advantage of the last rock by a score of 7 to 6. There were only three games played.

“The extreme cold weather still saw teams travel to compete, now that’s dedication,” said Becenko.

The teams were to travel to Benito for Week 5 action.
