CANORA - If you’ve been spending much time downtown on Main Street on Thursday afternoons lately, you’ve probably noticed that Canora Children’s Centre & Kidspace has been hosting a weekly summer lemonade stand.
Thirsty local residents can purchase lemonade or iced tea, and possibly a treat. On this day, the youngsters were selling peanut butter cookies that they helped to make.
According to the staff, the children are saving the money raised for the time 小蓝视频. Later they will brainstorm and vote on what purchases they would like to make with the hard-earned money. One possibility is to make add some fun new additions to the play yard.
Along with the fun involved in the lemonade stand project, there are also opportunities for these youngsters to grow and develop:
1). Social skills are actively 小蓝视频 developed when interacting with community members.
2). Math skills are developed by providing kiddos the opportunity to count and calculate simple addition.
3). Language development is happening by helping the children to learn to recognize letters, as well as progressing their early writing development by tracing and colouring the posters.
