Predators well represented at league all-star festivities

All-star players from the U15 Highway 9 Predators were: Shiloh Leson and Emmett Demchuk of Canora, Gavin Erickson of Preeceville, and goalie Emmett Lukey of Norquay.

CANORA - The U15 Highway 9 Predators, with players from all across the region, made their presence felt at the U15 Major Hockey League All Star Day held at Horizon Credit Union Center in Melville on April 12, thanks to finishing second in the league during the regular season.

In the skills competition Shiloh Leson of Canora represented the Preds well, showing off his speed to win the fastest skater competition. Other winners were: Mason Apland of Langenburg (puck handling) and Pacey Skulmoski (shot accuracy) and Corbin Lepine (goalie), both of Moosomin.

Other Predators players joining Leson as all-stars were: goalie Emmett Lukey of Norquay, Boston Smith of Preeceville, and Emmett Demchuk of Canora, who recorded a goal and an assist in the all-star game. Preds coach Terry Demchuk was the coach of Team Blue.

Highlights of the past season for the Preds included winning the A side of the Canora tournament, finishing second in the league during the regular season just two points behind first-place Langenburg, winning the first-round series in provincials, and making it all the way to the league A banner final in the playoffs.
