CANORA - Backed by popular demand, the Picnic in the Park & Old Fashioned Dance returned to Canora in Bloom in King George Park on July 20, featuring live music provided by The Zayshley’s.
Before introducing the first song, Randy Zayshley remarked, “How much better could it be? We’re in the park, we’ve got some shade, and some good music for you.”
Randy and Patty Zayshley then proceeded to play a variety of old-time favourites, and between songs displayed their seemingly effortless ability to have fun interacting with audience members.
The event was previously hosted by Canora Lioness, and since many local residents had indicated they missed it, the Picnic in the Park was brought back and hosted by the Canora Tourism Fundraising Committee. Committee members prepared hotdogs, beef-on-a-bun, and also had drinks for concertgoers to enjoy.
