CANORA — Motorists and pedestrians alike who spend time on the streets of Canora have no doubt noticed numerous eye-catching new signs around town, which have been acquired due to the efforts of the Canora Tourism Fundraising Committee.
Brandi Zavislak, community development officer, said the project began along Main Street.
“The new custom-made signs will be installed on Main Street all the way up on to Daniels Drive, Eighth Avenue East, Norway Road, Railway Avenue and then the inner-town signs will be replaced if faded,” explained Zavislak. “All of the signs are colourful and visible, made with a high intensity material that reflects light.”
Along with the new street signs, the Town of Canora will also be constructing cluster signs that will be installed along Norway Road, Railway Avenue, Eighth Avenue and Main Street.
“These signs will be framed out of timber and will be at very high traffic areas throughout the community,” detailed Zavislak. “In the spring new posts will be installed where there isn’t a power post to hang the new signs. All of these new signs complement our community theme. New street signs were long over due. Please be patient with the town as we get the new signs up. Numerous signs need to be removed once the new ones are installed.”
