CANORA, STURGIS - The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 46 calls from September 30 to October 6, some of which included: one traffic accident, 20 provincial traffic offenses, 15 other provincial statutes, one assault, two mischiefs, one extortion and six other incidents.
Mask refusal
On October 1, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint of a male causing a disturbance at a business in Preeceville after refusing to wear a mask. Police followed up with the complaint and continue to investigate.
Dangerous driver
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint in Canora on October 2 about a driver purposely swerving his vehicle towards the complainant in an attempt to hit them. Police continue to investigate.
Regina arrest warrant
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP executed an arrest warrant from Regina Police Service on a male located in Canora on October 2. The warrant of arrest was for failing to comply with a probation order. The male was released on an undertaking for court in Regina.
Annoying customers
On October 3, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance and bothering customers at a business in Canora. Police attended and arrested the male who was found in possession of methamphetamine. The male was charged and released on an undertaking for court in Canora.
Light post collision
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint on October 4 that a white Ford Explorer hit the light post at the intersection of Highway No. 47 and No. 755 in the RM of Preeceville. Shingle shenanigans
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint of multiple young persons on the roof of a shed in Canora pulling off shingles on October 5. Police have identified the youth and will be following up with their parents.
