The Canora Keen Age Centre held a birthday social on Sunday, March 13, to celebrate January, February and March birthdays. Nine persons celebrated their birthdays with the 26 guests in attendance, according to Edith Kotzer, Keen Age Centre president.
“Entertainment for the afternoon was provided by Joe Therault, who came all the way from Broadview,” said Kotzer. “Joe played the guitar and sang for us, mostly songs that were familiar so the visitors could sing along, and many did. The crowd gave Joe a standing ovation for his entertainment.”
The birthday celebrants gathered for photos and Happy Birthday was sung. Kotzer said the success of the event was due in large part to many helping hands.
“A big thank you to the kitchen helpers Linda Sissons, Mary Prokopetz and Bernie Rakochy who prepared a lovely lunch for us,” shared Kotzer. “Thank you to Lorraine Katelnikoff who said grace before the meal. Prayers were sent to the Ukrainians who are СÀ¶ÊÓƵ besieged by the Russians. Thank you to Kim Grywacheski who was the greeter at the door.”
Kotzer thanked Joe Therault for entertaining, welcomed those in attendance, and took new memberships for the following year.
“It was a most pleasant afternoon,” Kotzer concluded.
