With the increasing money-related pressures faced by Filling The Gap Food Bank in Canora, the donation of a side of beef by Gateway Co-op on Sept. 6 was a welcome boost, amounting to approximately 450 pounds of meat. It was a 4-H steer purchased by Gateway and processed by Cool Springs Ranch of Endeavour, which donated the cutting services. In the photo, from left, were: Brad Chambers, Gateway General Manager; Pastor Mavis Watson, volunteer administrator of Filling The Gap; Kris Hiebert, Gateway Food Division Manager, and Lyle Olson, Cool Springs Ranch. Watson said she was overwhelmed by the generosity of the donation, as well as the perfect timing. 鈥淛ust recently I prayed, 鈥楲ord, we need some more meat,鈥 and this was His answer.鈥Rocky Neufeld/Canora Courier
