Despite obstacles, hospital auxiliary continues important work

Even with the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canora hospital auxiliary fundraising efforts are bearing fruit and making purchases possible to improve patient comfort and working conditions for staff.

CANORA - The Canora hospital auxiliary would like to say thank you to all those that continue to donate funds to the auxiliary. As you know, over the past couple of years we were not able to host our Spring Tea, October Pie & Coffee, and the Carol Festival due to COVID-19. As time goes on, we are hoping to be able to host these events once again.

The auxiliary is still very much active. In these past couple of years we have purchased a blood collection chair for the lab. This makes it easier for the girls to work because they can raise and lower it to the height they need to work comfortably,

Two sleeper chairs were purchased for the patient rooms for families to use if they need to stay with their loved one.

Also, we have replaced the recliner chair in palliative care for the use of a family member. There were numerous other items also purchased. These new items were bought to make it easier for the staff to work and for the comfort of the patients while in hospital.
