CANORA - The Cruisers Club Car show held on Aug. 20 during the Canora Live & Play Street Festival provided plenty of evidence that there is all kinds of interest in cars, trucks and motorcycles in Canora and the surrounding area.
According to organizers, a total of 87 vehicles were originally entered, nearly double the entries from a year ago. Street Festival goers could easily spend hours admiring the long lineup of vehicles along Main Street, and then place their votes for the winners.
As has become tradition, Eugene Keyowski created a series of unique trophies for the winners in the various categories.
People’s Choice: Barry and Deb Coles of Yorkton, 1968 Oldsmobile 442.
1939 and earlier: Scott Bondell, 1926 Chevrolet.
1940-49: Al Peshko of Invermay, 1946 IH KB3 Rat Rod (built it himself).
1950-59: Kane Willick of Warman, 1958 Ford Edsel.
1960-69: Harvey Litvanyl of Yorkton, Studebaker.
1970-79: Dwayne Stankewich of Swan River, 1974 Plymouth Barracuda.
1980-89: Darwin Williamson of Swan River, 1981 Corvette Stingray.
1990 and newer: Danny Popoff of Canora, 1999 Mustang convertible.
Truck: Kevin Ludba of Canora, 1953 Ford.
The winner for favourite motorcycle was Tony Medernach of Yorkton, with his rare 1911 Harley-Davidson.
