Canora/Sturgis RCMP activity report: Tires slashed

RCMP arrested a male and female near Stenen and found break and enter tools inside. Police discovered the couple was also trespassing earlier at a farm, and found over 90 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 46 calls from March 17 to March 24, including a male in Preeceville urinating in public.

CANORA/STURGIS — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 46 calls from March 17 to March 24, some of which included: three traffic collisions, one 911 Act, two failing to comply with conditions, two criminal harassments, six traffic offences, two false alarms, one impaired operation, five mischiefs, four suspicious persons/vehicles, one Liquor Act, and 13 other incidents.

Couldn’t hold it in

On March 17, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint of a male in Preeceville urinating in public. Police continue to investigate.

Not a good idea

An unregistered vehicle was observed on March 19, driving down Centre Avenue in Canora.  The male driver was known to police to be a disqualified driver. The vehicle was towed and seized for 30 days and the male was charged with driving while suspended under the Traffic Safety Act.

Eventful date

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received two calls about a suspicious vehicle parked near the intersection of Highway No. 9 and No. 49 near Stenen on March 20. RCMP members located the vehicle with a male and female inside. Break and enter tools and suspected stolen property were observed in the vehicle. Police learned the couple was also trespassing earlier at a farm. The male and female were arrested for mischief and possession of stolen property. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of over 90 grams of methamphetamine. The male and female were charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of stolen property, possession of break and enter tools, and mischief. Both were remanded into custody.

Tire damage

On March 21, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a report of tires 小蓝视频 slashed on vehicles parked outside a bar in Canora. Police located the suspect and his father the following day and remanded both of them into custody on numerous outstanding warrants of arrest.

Friends?

At 5 a.m. on March 22 the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a male youth stranded in Canora. Police attended and spoke with the youth who admitted to 小蓝视频 kicked out of a party and later abandoned by his friends. The youth was given a courtesy ride to a family member’s residence in Yorkton.

COVID dispute

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a call to remove a family member from a Canora residence on March 23, as they had tested positive for COVID-19 and would not listen to the complainant.  Police spoke with the complainant and the matter was resolved without further police involvement.

Unusual collision

On March 23, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on the bridge two kilometers west of Preeceville on Highway No. 49. Police attended and learned an SUV collided with a snowmobile trail groomer. The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.  Police continue to investigate.

Not a good hiding spot

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a report of a male violating his release conditions not to be at an address in Canora on March 23. Police attended the residence and located the male hiding under some dirty laundry. The male was charged with failing to comply with his undertaking conditions and later released from custody.

Drinking then rollover

On March 23, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway No. 5 by Mikado. Police investigated the collision and determined a female passenger was drinking in the vehicle prior to the rollover. The female was charged with having open liquor in the vehicle.
