CANORA, STURGIS - The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 45 calls from September 2 to September 9, some of which included: one criminal harassment, 12 provincial traffic offences, two traffic collisions, six other provincial statutes, one assault, one theft, two mischiefs, two disturbing the peace, one trespass by night, one criminal harassment, one impaired operation, three animal calls, and 12 other incidents.
Structure fire
On September 2, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP assisted the Canora Fire Department with responding to a structure fire in Canora. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Department and further police involvement was not required.
Roaming coyote
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded on September 2 to a complaint of a coyote roaming around Canora. Police attended but were unable to locate the coyote. No further complaints were received.
Stuck on you
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint of a minor two-vehicle collision in the parking lot of a business in Preeceville on September 4. Both vehicles ended up stuck together, requiring a tow truck to pull them apart.
Nobody there
On September 4, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP followed up with a report of a male subject passed out in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle in Preeceville. Police attended and located the vehicle but no one was found inside.
Missing barbecue
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint on September 6 of a barbecue 小蓝视频 stolen from a residence in Canora. Police continue to investigate the theft.
Unwelcome noise
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint in the early morning hours of suspicious noises outside a residence in Sturgis on September 7. Police attended but were unable to determine the cause of the noises or locate any trespassers.
Not getting the message
On September 8, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint of a disturbance in Canora. Police attended and arrested a male subject for failing to comply with conditions not to consume alcohol. The male was later released by police and taken back to his residence for an unrelated assistance call. Once inside the home the male started to chug a bottle of vodka in front of police. The male was again arrested and charged but this time he was remanded into custody for failing to abide by his release conditions.
