CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 29 calls from March 20 to March 27, some of which included:
- one assault;
- two assaults with a weapon;
- one break and enter;
- one Child, Youth and Family Services Act call;
- two failures to comply with release conditions;
- one Fire Prevention Act call;
- two frauds;
- two Mental Health Act calls;
- two mischiefs;
- two offender management calls;
- one theft under $5,000;
- one traffic collision;
- nine traffic offenses;
- one suspicious person and
- one well小蓝视频 check.
Pepper sprayed at residence
On March 26, the Canora RCMP were dispatched to an assault complaint at a residence in Canora. Police went to the home and learned a man had been assaulted and pepper sprayed by two men known to him.
The two men, both from Canora, have been criminally charged for assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, and administering a noxious substance. Police continue to investigate the incident and make efforts to locate and arrest both men.
Electronic monitoring ignored
The Canora RCMP arrested and charged a man on March 26 for failing to comply with conditions of his release order. The man, who was on electronic monitoring, had failed to properly follow his schedule when given leave passes from his home. The man was remanded into custody and will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court.
Painful grease fire
On March 24, the Canora RCMP were dispatched to a report of smoke inside an apartment in Canora. Police went to the apartment and learned a grease fire had started on the stovetop. The sole occupant of the apartment sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries to their hand after putting out the fire.
Arena break-in
The Canora RCMP were dispatched on March 24 to a report of a break and enter at the Preeceville Skating Arena. Police continue to investigate.
