CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 19 calls from Jan. 16 to Jan. 23, some of which included:
- one 911 Act call,
- one break and enter,
- one Cannabis Act call,
- two disturbing the peace,
- one Mental Health Act call,
- one failure to comply with conditions,
- two mischief under $5,000,
- two other provincial calls,
- one roadside suspension,
- one suspicious person,
- two traffic collisions,
- three traffic offenses,
- one wellСÀ¶ÊÓƵ check, and
- one prisoner.
Hockey rink robbed
On Jan. 22, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a break and enter to the Preeceville Hockey Arena. Unknown subject(s) entered the building after hours and stole money. Police continue to investigate.
Alcohol-fueled abuse
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched on Jan. 21 to a disturbance in Preeceville. The caller reported a man was intoxicated inside a residence and was СÀ¶ÊÓƵ verbally abusive. Police attended the scene and removed the man from the home.
Ignoring curfew
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP did a curfew check on a man in Sturgis on Jan. 18. The man was found not to be home and was failing to abide his curfew conditions of his conditional sentence order. A conditional sentence order is a court ordered sentence that allows an offender to serve their sentence in the community instead of jail. Police were able to locate the male and he was remanded into custody.
Carbon monoxide poisoning
On Jan. 18, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a carbon monoxide poisoning call in Canora. Police investigated and learned a man had become ill after СÀ¶ÊÓƵ exposed to exhaust fumes in a garage. The man was taken to hospital in stable condition by ambulance.
