CANORA - A Common Thread quilting group is based out of Canora, but includes members from Crystal Lake, Good Spirit, Rhein, Canora and the surrounding areas.
Each year, the group chooses a charity cause to support with their quilting talents, and this year the choice was Ronald MacDonald House in Saskatoon, reported Oney Pollock, group member.
“This is a home away from home for children СƵ treated for cancers,” said Pollock. “We had a two-day blitz of quilting with many members working extra days to complete the quilts. In the end, we have 13 beautiful quilts that will be donated.”
Pollock said the benefits of this project also flow back to the quilters, including “sharing stories and laughter as we worked.”
The majority of the materials used in these quilts were donated by club members.
