CANORA- After a 2021/22 season filled with a number of banner victories and long playoff runs, Canora Minor Hockey held its annual general meeting on Sept. 20 in anticipation of another highly competitive season
Five Canora minor hockey teams are scheduled to hit the ice for the 2022/23 season, according to a report from the annual meeting. The U7 team has a total of 12 players registered. The U9 group has 10; U11 also has 10, and there are 16 players registered for the U13 team. The U15 age group will be a joint team involving Canora, Preeceville and Kamsack, with 17 players registered in total.
Volunteers are needed for team coaches and staff members. Team meetings for coaches and staff are scheduled for the early part of October.
Canora Minor Hockey Day is 小蓝视频 planned for Jan. 28, 2023.
Players and their families are also looking forward to a number of upcoming tournaments.
The U15 will be hosting home tournament on Oct. 29 and 30, with four teams already registered.
The U13 Canora tournament is scheduled for Nov. 12 and 13, while the U7 Jamboree will take place on Dec. 3. Canora tournaments for the U11 and U9 age groups will follow in the new year.
The Canora Minor Hockey executive for the coming year is a mixture of returning members and newcomers. Newly-elected are: Liza Marie Menton, secretary; Candace Doogan, webmaster; Parker Rice, vice-president, and Stacy Vangen, president. Trip raffle committee members are: Anita Demchuk, Meridee Kopelchuk and Cindy Wolkowski.
Returnees include: Crystal Reine, treasurer; Sherri Roebuck, registrar; Dwayne Wolkowski, referee-in-chief, and Colin Kitchen, ice scheduler.
