Canora curlers return from successful regional

Next stop provincials for CCS curlers.

The senior mixed curling team from Canora Composite School traveled to regionals in Estevan on March 4 to 5, and earned a spot in the upcoming provincials in Swift Current on March 11 and 12.

The CCS rink is made up of: Lane Zuravloff, skip; Cassidy Zuravloff, third; Brody Harrison, second, and Kailey Sleeva, lead. Clarence Homeniuk is the coach and Simone Homeniuk serves as the teacher representative.

The CCS team made it to provincials by winning the B qualifier in Estevan, taking four out of five games on the weekend

“Competition was tough this weekend, but our curlers persevered and worked very hard for this win,” reported Simone.

CCS had advanced to regionals by winning the district competition in Yorkton on February 11 and 12.
