CANORA — The Canora Soccer Club has plenty of reasons to be excited about the 2022 season, according to Taunya Kondratoff, president.
Weekly practices started indoors on April 7 and the first outdoor practises were held May 5 after the Canora Composite School field dried out adequately and the weather warmed up a bit.
“So far we have about 60 kids registered in Canora,” reported Kondratoff. “We have U5, U9, and U 11 teams, and they will split up come tournament and game time. We have a few U7’s that will be playing up with the U9’s.”
After all the challenges of the last couple of years, Kondratoff said players are looking forward to the opportunity to just get out and play.
“With COVID-19 putting a stop to sports, we’re so glad to be back in the field, and hopefully we can build the club back up to what it was two years ago.”
Practices are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. and split into the various age groups.
“We have two tournaments coming up in Yorkton in May and June, and that’s all so far. But the season is just starting,” concluded Kondratoff.
