INVERMAY - May came in with a warm welcome. It was an active month filled with lots of fun activities.
On April 27, Brett Lauther from the Saskatchewan Roughriders visited Invermay School to do some activities with the students. From kindergarten to Grade 5, Brett had participated in the Roughriders Reading Program, where he read the book Not Without My Teammates. The Grade 6 to 12 students enjoyed a presentation about mental health and how to cope with it.
Later on, the Invermay Red Cross Group planned a spirit week for everyone. The spirit week lasted from May 16-19, where students dressed up with a different theme each day.
On May 31, Invermay School welcomed guest speaker Chris Gray (aka Cody Deaner). Chris talked about his journey of achieving his dream job of becoming a professional wrestler. He had told the students that, “You can be whatever you want if you work hard.”
We would like to congratulate our students who excelled at the Legion and District Poem, Poster, and Essay Contest. We congratulate Juan Miguel Lucas for winning zone first place for his colour poster, Cielo Marasigan for winning zone first place for her colour poster and then district third place, Aron Cudal for winning zone second place for his poem, and Irish Ferenal for winning zone third place for her essay.
June was an exciting month for students and teachers as the school year wrapped up with year-end field trips and fun days.

We invited students to the 17th Annual Walk and Roll to get a chance to win one of three pedal bikes. We had 62 students participate! The Walk and Roll invites all GSSD students and staff to choose a form of active transportation to get to school. Congratulations to Mrs. Walker, who won the staff bike.
We wrapped up our Breakfast Program and would like to thank Mrs. Walker and Ms. Wallin for providing delicious breakfast for us on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We had our school-wide SRC fun day on June 15. We brought in an obstacle course, inflatable soccer darts and inflatable carnival throwing games, and laser tag was set up in the gym. We had mini golf, and a big slip ‘n slide with a bubble machine. The firefighters showed up with their fire truck and hosed down the slide!
We would like to thank Ker’s Bouncers for bringing all our fun activities. The SRC provided snacks and lunch for us; a snack 小蓝视频 a popsicle, and lunch including a hotdog, a slice of watermelon, a juice box, and a cookie.
We say goodbye to our graduating class of five and wish them all the best after high school. We say goodbye to Jesse Grychowski, Hallie Pozniak, David Keller, Kayla Dubas and Nathaniel Minhinnick.
And now, we leave school and start our summer holidays!
