Edmonton police officer sent to hospital after car crash

EDMONTON — A police officer has been sent to hospital after a car crash in northeast Edmonton.

EDMONTON — A police officer has been sent to hospital after a car crash in northeast Edmonton.

Police say an unmarked police vehicle was travelling southbound in the afternoon on Manning Drive near 137th Avenue with its lights and sirens activated when it was hit.

They say the police vehicle was hit on its passenger side by another vehicle headed east on 137th Avenue.

Police say the officer had non-life-threatening injuries while the other driver was unhurt.

Collision investigators were on scene.

The intersection was closed, and motorists were СÀ¶ÊÓƵ advised to avoid the area.
